AMRI faculty, researchers, and students all gathered together at the Lindy Boggs Conference Center on Thursday, February 12, 2015 for an event. The occasion was the Annual AMRI Mardi Gras Review held every year.

Dr. John Wiley and Jennifer Tickle set up the AMRI exhibit recently at the Get to Know UNO Day. This event was sponsored by the University Office of Enrollment Services on Saturday, November 22, 2014.

As we begin a new school year, 2014-2015, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our researchers, collaborators, sponsors and students for the continued interest and support of our research activities at AMRI.

The 2014 AMRI/Chemistry Summer Outreach Research Program began on May 22 with the undergraduate students, who were joined by the high school students and high school teachers on June 2, and will continue through July 25, when the program closes with a poster session and a cook-out lunch.

AMRI research programs, including the current LASIGMA project and the Summer Outreach Program, were presented. AMRI industrial collaborators Scott Yano, Lakeshore Cryotronics, and Timothy Langan, Surface Treatment Technologies, also gave presentations. Following the Review, 21 research posters of AMRI graduate students were put on display for the 60 attendants.

AMRI faculty, students and staff joined the Chemistry Department on Friday, November 22, 2013, to celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving. Everyone gathered in the Chemistry lounge and enjoyed a potluck style dinner including the traditional turkey as well as various international dishes brought by graduate students. Thanks to all who contributed to making this event a tasty success!

The 2013 AMRI Summer Outreach Program began on May 28 for undergraduate participants, and June 3 for high school student and teacher participants. This year there were 28 participants: 18 undergraduates, 2 high school teachers, and 8 high school students. Ten UNO faculty members from AMRI, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics acted as mentors: Drs. Matt Tarr, Gabriel Caruntu, Zhengchang Liu, Leszek Malkinski, Steven Rick, Leonard Spinu, Ed Stevens, Kevin Stokes, John Wiley, and Weilie Zhou.
