How to Apply: Performance
MFA Theatre Performance (Acting)
- Statement of Purpose
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
- A headshot and resume.
- Auditions are mandatory. Actors should prepare three monologues of no more than 3 minutes each, one of which must be Shakespeare.
Applicants are responsible for contacting Kalo Gow (firstname.lastname@example.org) regarding the schedule for on campus auditions or to make alternate arrangements. On campus auditions include an interview, tour of facilities and private discussions with current MFA actors.
If circumstances do not permit an audition on-campus, a DVD is perfectly acceptable. DVD auditions should include a one-minute introduction of yourself and interests followed by the monologues. DVD must also contain at least one full-length shot mid-shot, and close up.
MFA Theatre Performance (Directing)
- Representative reviews.
- A short DVD or photo samples of your work.
- Arrange a phone interview with the head of the directing program through the Graduate Coordinator.
Support material applicable to your area of study should be forwarded directly to the department's Graduate Coordinator.

Graduate Assistantship Opportunities
Theatre UNO has a limited number of Graduate Assistantships and Awards. Our department offers these to incoming applicants as available. We have no access to GA-ships in other departments.
