Student Academic Success

Helping students be academically successful is at the heart of what we do.  In fact, IMPACT UNO, our strategic plan, focuses goals one and two on student success, and we monitor and publicly report on key student achievement measures.

We also know that academic success is influenced by more than just getting the materials you need for class, preparing for class, and actually going to class.  You also need to learn how to navigate the processes and procedures of your education.  You'll undoubtedly have questions about things like:

  • How do I pay for my education?  Where do I pay for parking?
  • How do I add and drop classes? Change my major?
  • How do I get ready to graduate and get my diploma?
  • I had academic an accommodation in high school, how do I get those services in college?
  • Where can I find tutoring and workshops on topics like taking notes and decoding the lecture?
  • What mental health and community engagement resources are available?
  • Who can help me figure out what I want to do after college and help me find an internship or a job?

Whatever your question is, we likely have an office to help.  Many of these offices are located on the first floor of the Earl K. Long Library, either in the Privateer Enrollment Center (PEC) or in the Learning Commons (LC).  The other offices are located on the second floor of the University Center (UC).
