Step Three: Fall MAMBO

 

Fall MAMBO

SAVE THE DATE: Fall MAMBO- August 8-12, 2022

Fall MAMBO is a three-day hybrid orientation will immerse you into the Privateer experience and prepare you for your first semester at UNO. Students will be assigned three days between August 8- 12, 2022 as we get closer to Fall MAMBO. 

 It is required for all incoming first time, full time, first year students enrolled in UNIV 1001, Chem 1000, or Engr 1000  course to attend Fall MAMBO. Transfers are welcome to attend our New Transfer Experience track.

Do you require disability-related accommodations to participate in MAMBO? Please let us know by emailing nse@uno.edu.

First time, first year students will meet virtually with your UNIV 1001, Chem 1000, or Engr 1000 class to discuss topics around your transition into our university and attend activities to help you get connected to fellow Privateers.

How to RSVP for Step 3: Fall MAMBO:

*RSVPs for Fall MAMBO will open in June*

After you attend Step 1: Zoom Orientation, an email will be sent to your personal email prompting you to RSVP for Fall MAMBO.

  • Move-In Information

    If you are living on campus, moving in is just one of many ways that MAMBO will help prepare you for a successful first year at UNO! In Pontchartrain Hall and Privateer Place, students will select when they move-in. We suggest students move-in to their fall housing assignment before their In-Person MAMBO Day. Read more move-in information from Pontchartrain Halls and Privateer Place. 

    New International Students should follow the move-in information as directed by the Office of International Students & Scholars.  

    New Student Athletes will follow move-in instructions provided by the Athletics department and their coaches.  

Highlights of Spring MAMBO

Each student's schedule will feature the following sessions: 

  • UNIV 1001, CHEM 1000, ENGR 1000

    In your UNIV 1001, CHEM 1000, and ENGR 1000 course you will discuss the following topics: 

    • Highschool vs College
    • Technology at UNO
  • College/Major Breakout

    An Orientation Leader will lead a breakout discussion with new students of similar majors about the challenges of starting college and strategies to overcome them. 

  • Workshops

    Connect with campus resources and academic departments while you learn tools to be successful at UNO.

  • Playfair

    Break the ice with and meet fellow students with this fun activity.
