Office 2010 is not recommended, however mainstream support will continue until April 2016 and extended support will continue until June 1, 2016.

Windows 10 is the latest Microsoft operating system . It introduces a new shell and user interface based off Microsoft's "Metro" design language, featuring a new Start screen with a grid of dynamically updating tiles to represent applications, a new app platform with an emphasis on touchscreen input, the new Windows Store to obtain and purchase applications for the system, and the ability to synchronize programs and settings between multiple devices.

It is a web based, research surveying software. The software allows for the creation of online surveys which can be distributed bearing the UNO logo.
Qualtrics online survey software is available to UNO faculty and staff as well as students, when supervised by faculty, in a class or research setting. Our license allows for unlimited use of the software for UNO related research and educational activities. However, it may not be used for non-UNO purposes and or commercial business. All survey distribution is subject to current University Institutional Review Board policy which is located at OFFICE OF HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH.
To use the software, anyone with a UNO email address may access their account through the UNO myapps portal. This account will be immediately available to create a limited number of surveys, but it will not allow for their distribution. Faculty and staff must contact the help desk at (504)280-HELP or email@example.com to upgrade their account to full access to distribute surveys.
If faculty would like upgraded accounts for their students, they may contact the help desk to submit the request. The faculty member must provide the students’ full name, username, student ID number, and the course name (i.e. NAME 1000). The student will receive "coupons" that will allow upgraded access for a period of one semester. Faculty may request a longer duration coupon for doctoral students or other students assisting faculty on a research project. Upon expiration of a coupon, the student account will revert back to limited access which will still allow the student access to the survey and data collected.
A coupon is used to appoint permissions and the amount of time a student has access to Qualtrics to conduct research. A coupon code will be given to faculty, once they have emailed a request to the Help Desk, to give to their students to input when they create their account.

ANSYS is a general purpose software, used to simulate interactions of all disciplines of physics, structural, vibration, fluid dynamics, heat transfer and electromagnetic for engineers.
So ANSYS, which enables to simulate tests or working conditions, enables to test in virtual environment before manufacturing prototypes of products. Furthermore, determining and improving weak points, computing life and foreseeing probable problems are possible by 3D simulations in virtual environment.
ANSYS software with its modular structure as seen in the table below gives an opportunity for taking only needed features. ANSYS can work integrated with other used engineering software on desktop by adding CAD and FEA connection modules.

The Populus software contains a set of simulations that we use to teach population biology and evolutionary ecology at the University of Minnesota. Simulation models may be chosen from a menu, and students can move among the parameter boxes of an input window, changing initial defaults to values of their own choosing. Most modules offer several graphical outputs of model dynamics, and their computational algorithms are detailed in an Acrobat-based help system packaged with the program.
R is a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. It compiles and runs on a wide variety of UNIX platforms, Windows and MacOS. Product Use Rights: A Single-User license is for a named individual who is identified as the only Authorized User. Subject to the terms and conditions, StataCorp grants to Customer a non-assignable, nontransferable license, without the right to sublicense, to use the Licensed Software, in object-code form only, solely for Customer’s internal business, research, or educational purposes, and solely by the Individual Customer.
Faculty/Staff Home Use: Customer may install up to three (3) copies of the Licensed Software, provided that only one (1) copy is in use at any given time (i.e., no concurrent use on different computers).
Product Use Rights: Subject to the terms and conditions, StataCorp grants to Customer a non-assignable, nontransferable license, without the right to sublicense, to use the Licensed Software, in object-code form only, solely in an educational student lab environment for teaching purposes (but not for research purposes) within a degree-granting institution. Customer is authorized to install the Licensed Software on an unlimited number of machines as long as the specific number of Concurrent Authorized Users for which Customer has paid the applicable License Fee is not exceeded.
