Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Engineering Management. Dr. Herrington joined the faculty of the University of New Orleans in 1991. His teaching covers the areas of solid mechanics, finite element analysis, reliability, and design. His research interests include mechanics of composite materials, probabilistic aspects of material performance, and fatigue of fiber-reinforced laminates. He has conducted research in the areas of fatigue of graphite/epoxy laminates, joining of composites, stress analysis of orthotropic materials, and thermal/mechanical stresses in pressure vessels.
