Dimitrios Charalampidis, Ph.D., holds the Huntington Ingalls Incorporated Endowed Professorship of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Charalampidis has been a university professor since August 2001, when he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at University of New Orleans as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor in August 2007. He was Associate Chair of the department from January 2008 to August 2012, and since August 2012 he is the department Chair. His field of expertize is image processing, signal processing, neural networks, and related applications, such as remote sensing imaging, medical imaging, filter design, and field programmable gate arrays.
