Featured Faculty: Kathy Rodriguez
Kathy Rodriguez is an assistant professor of painting, drawing, design, and art history. In the spring of 2022, she and her Painting II class worked with Keep UNO Beautiful to paint a mural of Pine Warblers on the side of the UNO Administration Annex. The mural serves to raise awareness of the threats climate change poses to local bird populations. We took inspiration from the Audubon Mural Project and the National Audubon Society’s report “Survival by Degrees" in selecting the Pine Warbler as the bird featured. We hope to feature more birds next fall!
Kathy worked tirelessly to see this project to fruition and enabled her students to leave a permanent (and beautiful) mark on their campus. Thank you, Kathy!
