Packing List

Students are encouraged to pack the following when preparing for life in Pontchartrain Halls:

· Bedding: two and four bedrooms will have Extra Long twin beds. Single rooms will have a full bed.

· Pillows

· Mattress covers or foam pillow mattress toppers

· Television (must be on stand- no wall mount allowed) (Smart tv's, Roku or Amazon Fire stick encouraged as cable is not provided in suites.)

· Laptop, desktop, I-pad, smart phone, chargers and electronic devices and accessories

· Ethernet cords

· Power strip cords

· Mini fridge (5.0 cubic feet or smaller)

· Microwave (No higher than 600 watt) (each hall does have two microwaves)

· Laundry detergent

· Clothes hamper

· Shower mats, towels, wash cloths, shower curtain & liner, toilet paper

· Area rugs

· Plates, bowls, cups & silverware

· Dish detergent, laundry detergent, and bathroom cleaning supplies

· Decorations

· 3-M Command strips or hooks (nails, tape or tacks are not permitted to hang items on walls)

· Trash basket

· Plastic, metal or wire storage bins and baskets

· Clothes hangers or shoe bins and organizers for extra storage

· Plunger

The following items are not allowed in our halls

· Candles (incense or wax warmers)

· Hot plates (or anything with a exposed heating element such as a toaster)

· Overcrowded items in outlets as overcrowding can cause a fire. Students are responsible for any damages associated with inappropriate use of personal property.

· Space Heaters

· Additional furniture of any kind

· Additional or alternate Mattresses unless approved by The Office of Disability Services

· Christmas or string lights (per Fire Marshall)

· Refrigerators which provide larger than 5 cubic feet of refrigerated space.

· Extension cords (power strips are ok!)

· Wall plug in air fresheners

· Alcohol (if you are under 21)

· Vapor supplies or any smoking related paraphernalia (smoking is prohibited on campus)

· Illegal drugs or paraphernalia

· Pets

· Weapons including knives with blades larger than 5 inches
