Maintenance Request

Lafitte Village & Pontchartrain Hall Residents

Residents who are experiencing maintenance issues in their room or suite must request a maintenance order. Maintenance Request should be completed online and are prioritized by the University's maintenance provider, ABM and in house staff to be quickly resolved. Typically, maintenance requests are handled during the business hours of Monday through Friday (8:00 am - 4:30 pm).

Online Maintenance Request

Should a maintenance issue arise in your unit, please report the issue within the Residential Life app at myapps.uno.edu.

  • Select Residential Life app.
  • Select "RCR/Damages" in the left hand menu and select "Maintenance Requests." From here you can enter requests for your suite.

    For an after-hours maintenance emergency, please contact the front desk of your hall and submit a maintenance request.

Laundry View

Laundry facilities in Pontchartrain Halls and Lafitte Village are provided by CSC Serviceworks. The CSC Go App allows residents to review laundry machine status in each laundry room, request alerts when their clothes wash or dry cycle are completed and more.

For helpful tips on preparing to store your items as well as available locations for storage, visit StorageUnits.com. 

Collegeboxes.com will store student's property in their nearby, secure, climate- controlled facility. Transporting the items to and from campus, boxes and backing supplies are included as a part of the service fee. CollegeBoxes is owned by U- Haul International, Inc.

  • Connecting to Wifi (Resnet in Residence Halls)

    ResNet is a free high-speed network service available to the residential community of UNO’s main campus. ResNet uses dedicated Ethernet wiring and WiFi connectivity to provide each resident an individual connection to the University network and internet. You can use many devices to connect to the resnet secure network, by simply using our instructions to configure your device’s network settings and entering your UNO student credentials, for gaining ResNet access.

    Complete the registration link for your devices to access ResNet within Pontchartrain Halls.  The form is specifically for residents that would like to have a gaming and/or streaming device connect to the ResNet network for use. By completing the form before you arrive to your room, your devices will ready to connect with a few simple instructions. 
     
    To complete the form, you will need to provide:
    1. The MAC address for your gaming and/or streaming devices
    2. Your UNO email address.
    3. Your residence hall assignment (Building, Room Number, & Room Letter Assignment) - ex: P. Hall North 124C
    4. Contact Number (mobile phone preferred)

  • Understanding your Pontchartrain Hall Suite Door Lock

    The suite doors at Pontchartrain Hall are card only Saflok locks; the students residing in the suite must have their ID card programmed for the door to gain access to the suite. Throughout the lifespan of the lock, the lights on the lock may flash as a signal to the person presenting their card to the lock. Submit a maintenance request if you are experiencing trouble with your suite door lock. 

    Common Lock Issues:

    • Slow blinking of the lights: Battery is Low. 
    • Red and green lights flash alternately: Replace Battery.
    • Simultaneous red and green flashing: clock Needs to be Reset
    • Flashing yellow 1-2 times: Incorrect Card.
    • Quick red light: Improper Use of Card.
    • Quick Red and Yellow Light: Cannot Read Code; Lock is Damaged/ Needs Cleaning.

  • Short-term Rental Laptops Available

    The Office of Residential Life staff were approved to purchase several new items of technology from the Student Technology Fee to assist our residents in Pontchartrain Halls. These items are: headphones to be checked out at the North Hall or South Hall front desk, video cameras to assist with virtual technology needs installed on the computers in the North Hall 1st floor computer lab, North Hall 4th floor lounge and South Hall 4th floor computer lab, and laptops for short term rentals by residential students.

    Frequently Asked Questions: 

    1. How long can a laptop be checked-out for? Laptops can be checked out for a maximum of 3 days. Laptops must be returned by Friday at 4 pm unless reserved from Friday to Monday. 
    2. Where do I pick up the laptop? Once your registration is confirmed via email, you will need to pick up the laptop from the Office of Residential Life office (North 128) between 8:30 am- 4 pm Monday- Friday on the designated pick up date. Laptops will not be distributed by the front desk staff or after hours staff. 
    3. Where do I return the laptop? You must return the laptop to the Office of Residential Life office (North 128) between 8:30 am- 4 pm Monday- Friday. $50 per day fines will apply if the laptop is not returned on the due date. If not returned, the student will be charged for the full replacement cost of the equipment. 
    4. How many laptops can I check out? One laptop may be checked out at a time per student. Limited numbers of laptops are available; registrations will be approved and confirmed in the order submitted. 
    5. Can I save my documents on the laptop? The devices are programmed to delete data from the laptop when the laptop is closed down. We encourage you to save your data in your One drive, email or on a thumb drive so your data is not deleted.
  • Understanding your Pontchartrain Hall Air Conditioner Thermostat
    • Thermostats in Pontchartrain Halls are set to allow students to adjust their temperature between the degrees of 68 to 75. The units are set this way to maintain dehumidification within the suites and ensure moisture does not build up in the suite.
    • If you wish to have your unit warmer, simply increase the temperature on the thermostat. The unit will switch to heat.
    • If you wish to cool the unit, set it to 68, the unit will switch to cool.

      If you have adjusted your thermostat and are still experiencing issues with your Air Conditioning/ Heating unit, please submit a work order via the Residential Life app.
