The Department of Biological Sciences provides a supportive and dynamic education experience for our undergraduate and graduate students. The Department currently offers graduate training leading to a Ph.D. degree in Integrative Biology and the Master of Science (MS) degree in Biological Sciences.

The Department of Chemistry offers challenging undergraduate and graduate programs. Students will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and research centers with guidance from a staff of trained technicians, machinists, and stockroom personnel. The department is small enough to offer personal attention, yet large enough to provide diversity of expertise, and a broad range of modern equipment.

The Department of Computer Science is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service to the profession and the community. The central focus of the department is providing quality, innovative, baccalaureate and graduate education that emphasizes established fundamentals.

Earth and Environmental Sciences
Earth and Environmental Sciences

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences was founded in the 1960's and has grown to offer the B.S, M.S and Ph.D degrees. Students have the option of pursuing concentrations in geoscience or coastal environmental science. UNO strives to offer our students new degree programs that reflect the needs of Louisiana.

The Department of Mathematics at the University of New Orleans offers undergraduate and graduate math degrees in pure and modern concepts. Learn more.

The Department of Physics at the University of New Orleans offers a BS in Physics, an MS in Applied Physics and an interdisciplinary PhD in Engineering and Applied Science. In addition to the core Physics curriculum, the department also offers several courses for non-majors including astronomy, conceptual physical science and the physics of music.
