College of Science Scholarships

for Fall 25-Spring 26

 

Science Scholarships

We have 10 endowed scholarships available to award to undergraduates in the fall semester 2025. These scholarships must be used to cover cost of attendance such as tuition and selected students will receive $500-$1500 per semester and can retain these through spring semester 2026 as long as you meet certain GPA and credit hour requirements. We are looking to help students with strong interests in sciences pursuing research experiences or other extra curricular activities, and to help students with financial need. We recommend that you write a draft for the 4 short questions and then submit the completed application after giving considerable thought to these four questions at bottom of application. We strongly encourage a completed FAFSA for these scholarships.

Deadline for receipt of applications is May 12, 2025.

 


HealthCare Mentoring Scholarship

We have scholarships available to award to undergraduates with interests in healthcare professions in the fall semester 2025. These scholarships must be used to cover cost of attendance such as tuition, and selected students will receive $2,000 per semester and can retain this as long as certain requirements are met. We are looking to help students with declared interest in healthcare programs requiring a bachelor's degree. You must be a first-generation student and have chosen a major and sub-plan with a healthcare focus (Pre-Med; Pre-Dent; Pre-Vet; Pre-Occupational Therapy; Pre-Optometry; Pre-Physical Therapy; and Pre-Physician Assistant). Selected students will be provided help with getting summer internships/apprenticeships in 2026, preparation with entrance exams, and will be required to serve as mentors to 1-3 incoming students interested in healthcare. We recommend that you write a draft for the 5 short questions and then submit the completed application after giving considerable thought to these questions at bottom of application. We strongly encourage you to complete a FAFSA for these scholarships.

James Russell Theriot Scholarship

The award is given to a male sophomore or junior sciences major based on financial need, strong desire to succeed and perseverance. Scholarships will be given to two students. Please note that the benefactors of this scholarship support other women's center scholarships and this scholarship is in recognition of a deceased family member. The minimum GPA is a 3.0 and the selected students will receive full in-state tuition and fees scholarship as long as you retain a 3.0 overall GPA and are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours each semester. We recommend that you write a draft for the 4 short questions and then submit the completed application after giving considerable thought to these four questions at bottom of application.
