Honor Societies
Tau Beta Pi - Louisiana Epsilon Chapter (Engineering)
Advisor: Dr. Norma Jean Mattei
This association was established to recognize engineering students of distinguished scholarship and exemplary character. The Louisiana Epsilon Chapter was installed at UNO in 1993. Members are involved in community service such as Habitat for Humanity and Beach Sweep, as well at tutoring, blood drives and lectures on engineering topics.

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - UNO Chapter
Advisor: Dr. Gianna Cothren
UNO students founded the local chapter in 1976. They have competed in the Concrete Canoe competition, "the America's Cup of college civil engineering," since 1989. They also compete annually in the AISC Steel Bridge competition.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) - UNO Chapter
Advisor: Dr. Uttam Chakravarty
Membership is open to any student in Pre-Engineering or in the Dr. Robert A. Savoie College of Engineering. Membership applications are available from any ASME officer.
American Concrete Institute

Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) - UNO Chapter

Instrument Society of America
An interdisciplinary organization dedicated to fostering technical, scientific, and educational advancement in the theory, design, manufacture, and use of instruments, computers, and measurement systems. ISA standards are the final words for instrument and control professionals.

Society for Advanced Graduate Engineering Studies (SAGES) - UNO
This professional graduate engineering society was established in 1998 in the Dr. Robert A. Savoie College of Engineering at UNO. This student organization seeks to enhance the education of the graduate engineer by promoting graduate-level research and technical communication skills among the engineering student body. The goal is for each member or group to complete at least one research project each year. Membership is also open to undergraduates.

Mechanical Engineering Mini Baja Competition
Engineering students are tasked to design and build an off-road vehicle that will survive the severe punishment of rough terrain and, in the East competition, water.
