Henry Bernstein College of Business Administration

Since 1961, the Henry Bernstein College of Business Administration (COBA) has provided excellence in higher education, research, community leadership, and service. From its renowned academic business programs to community-involved faculty to acclaimed research centers, COBA is a vibrant place that has prepared over 25,000 graduates for success in a demanding job market.

The mission of the Henry Bernstein College of Business Administration is to deliver a quality business education to our international, regional, and local communities through teaching, research, service to our stakeholders, and the effective use of technology. We strive to facilitate economic development and entrepreneurial activity and adhere to the core values of continuous improvement, high ethical standards, and diversity in the educational environment.

Opportunities

Business students have a choice of business professional organizations, such as chapters of the American Marketing Association, Institute of Management Accountants, American Hotel and Lodging Association, National Association of Black Accountants, the College of Business Executive Council, Entrepreneur Alliance, the Finance and Economics Association and Beta Alpha Psi National Honors and Professional Organization for accounting and finance students.

Facilities

COBA is housed in Kirschman Hall which contains two large computer laboratories. The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism has a state-of-the-art facility with a dining room, commercial kitchen, and demonstration lab with a classroom. The College also features the Center for Economic Development, the Institute of Real Estate Research, the Division of Business & Economic Research, and the Hospitality Research Center. The Department of Economics and Finance has editorial management over two academic journals: the Public Finance Review, a semi-annual economics journal for the study of the public sector on the economy, and the Review of Financial Economics, published bi-annually and includes scholarly contributions from academics and practitioners in financial economics.
