Honors Organizations

These groups recognize the academic achievements of students who qualify and are initiated, usually associated with a national organization, such as Psi Chi or the Honors Student Council. (Membership is by invitation only.)

Alpha Chi Sigma

Purpose: To bind its members with a tie of true and lasting friendship. To strive for the advancement of chemistry both as a science and as a profession. To aid its members by every honorable means in the attainment of their ambitions as chemists throughout their mortal lives.


Alpha Epsilon Delta

Purpose: To provide pre-health undergraduates with necessary resources to pursue and excel in health professions.


Beta Alpha Psi

Purpose: To expose members to the accounting profession and for networking opportunities.


Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta)

Purpose: To improve the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. 


Chi Sigma Iota

Purpose: To promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.


Golden Key International Honour Society

Purpose: To unlock and enliven excellence within our members and to help them fulfill their full potential. Invites the top 15% of all students at the University regardless of field of study.


Honors Student Council

Purpose: To provide social opportunities for Honors students outside of academic life.


Kappa Delta Epsilon (KDE)

Purpose: To support the cause of education by fostering a spirit of fellowship, high standards of scholastic attainment and professional ideals among its members.


National Society of Black Engineers 

Purpose: The Mission of NSBE it " to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, success professionally and positively impact the community.


The National Society of Collegiate Scholars

Purpose: To elevate high achieving students through the three pillars of leadership: community, service and scholarship. 


Omega Delta Sigma

Purpose: To provide services to UNO's student veteran population and assisting members in navigating the often confusing and stressful transition from member of the armed forces to student veteran.


Pi Alpha Alpha

Purpose: To encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship and accomplishment in public affairs and administration, to promote the advancement of education and practice in the art and science of public affairs and administration, and to foster integrity, professionalism and creative performance in the conduct of governmental and related public service activities.


Pi Sigma Alpha

Purpose: To recognize outstanding academic achievement in the study of political science. To offer services and activities to students.


Psi Chi Psychology Honors Society

Purpose: To encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.


Sigma Gamma Epsilon

Purpose: To network with a local group of earth sciences scholars on campus, hone critical leadership and business skills, and give back to the community through service hours.


Tau Beta Pi

Purpose: To recognize accomplishments among engineering students and professionals, celebrate exemplary people and their important engineering contributions to society, and champion engineering as a highly valued career.
