Training

The Office of Research facilitates professional development sessions to further the research effort at the University of New Orleans. The goals of these sessions are to provide the necessary tools for faculty and staff to apply for outside funding and then to manage the funding.

Live training sessions will be offered periodically or on demand. Refer to the calendar below for dates and times of live sessions when scheduled.

Topic Description
Research Funding Basics We highlight everything about sponsored funding—from obtaining it to spending it.
Audit Survival An auditor calls—what do you do? Learn some tips on how to endure an audit.
Research Jeopardy A fun, interactive session to test your knowledge of research monitoring and spending by playing Jeopardy!
Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Citi is used for this training. Please visit the RCR page for additional information.
Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) — Ethics Discussion Attendees form groups to discuss ethical issues in a case study. Each group gives a short summary of their discussion to all attendees.

Training Procedures

All individuals who have received funding from an external sponsor or who manage funding from an external sponsor will benefit from these sessions. New faculty and staff members are encouraged to attend the live sessions when scheduled.
