Lauren Gibbs, a UNO graduate (MBA ’14) and adjunct professor, is making waves in the construction industry as CEO of Gibbs Construction, as the New Orleans firm celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The second-generation, family-owned firm has grown under her leadership since 2019. Building on the legacy founded by her father, Lawrence “Larry” Gibbs, the company continues to shape New Orleans and the Gulf Coast as a leading commercial and institutional general contractor.
“By fostering a culture of authentic communication and collaboration, we aren't just completing complex construction projects; we are building lasting relationships and a legacy of progress for the Gulf South,” said Gibbs in an interview on the 50-year landmark.
Lauren’s connection to UNO is more than biographical. As an adjunct professor, she is actively investing in the next generation of construction professionals—many of whom may go on to work in firms like hers.
