Mardi Gras Visitor Policy

  • Who is a Visitor?

    Anyone that does NOT live in your suite MUST be registered as a visitor. They must be registered even if they are a UNO student or live in our halls. The $35 will only be applied to non-Pontchartrain Hall visitors. 

  • Fee

    A fee of $35 will be assessed for each visitor (max of two)/resident. The fee will be placed on your WebStar account. 

REGISTRATION PROCESS

You can register your visitor(s) between February 10th - February 15th at 11:59 PM CST using this FORM. It is not guaranteed nor automatically approved until you have been given an approval email. This email will be sent on February 16th - February 17th. 

CHECK-IN PROCESS

Once you have received the approval, be sure to communicate everything to your visitor(s). Your visitor can only check-in with you present at the front desk. When you arrive to the desk, both you and the visitor are to show your identification -- Resident (UNO ID) / Visitor (Driver's License or other Gov Issued ID). A wrist band will be issued which is to be worn at all times by the visitor(s). Wrist bands will not be reissued. You cannot pick up a wristband for a visitor that has not arrived yet. 

THE VISIT

Residents are responsible for their visitor(s) and ensuring they abide by the set forth by the University of New Orleans, Office of Residential Life, and the Office of Student Accountability and Disability Services. Any violations will be referred through the Office of Student Accountability and Disability Services which can result in one or more of the following: loss of guest privileges, housing probation, housing termination and other applicable sanctions set forth by the University. This includes the possibility of your visitor(s) being removed from the building. Refunds will not be issued for visitors removed from the building.

WE'VE GOT YOUR ANSWERS

When is this Mardi Gras in effect? The registration process begins on Feb 10 - Feb 15th. The visitation process begins on February 17th and concludes on February 22nd at 12 PM. Your visitor must leave the building by 12 PM on February 22nd. 

What is the bracelet? The bracelet given to your visitor(s) must be on at all times. If they do not have it, they cannot be in the building. We will NOT replace any bracelets. You cannot pick up a bracelet for your visitor without them being present, regardless of when they plan to arrive. Your visitor must bring their ID (preferably a driver's license) when getting their bracelet.

When do I have to pay? Your fee will be placed on your WebStar account. Be sure to pay your balance per the University policies.

How many visitors can I have? 2 max per resident.  Maximum of two guests allowed per resident. Students must abide by the suite occupancy standards below: 

  • 4-Bedroom Suite: 8 persons is the maximum occupancy of a 4-bedroom suite.
  • 2- Bedroom Suites: 4 persons is the maximum occupancy of a 2-bedroom suite.
  • 1- Bedroom Suite: 3 persons is the maximum occupancy of a 1-bedroom suite.
