Program Overview

This is a hybrid course with two components: Five weeks of asynchronous online classes and three weeks of cultural immersion and language instruction in Guatemala. 

For the immersion travel portion of the course in Guatemala, students receive three hours of language instruction each morning. In the afternoons, students then engage in cultural immersion activities to learn more about the location and the local people. 

Participants will be in a homestay in Guatemala for the 3-week onsite portion of the program. 

Program Dates

Students will be on-site in Guatemala from June 14-July 4, 2026.
 

Program Cost

• Room & Board ($405.00)
• Ground Transportation/Field Trips ($150.00)
• UNO Summer tuition for 6 credits ($2092.00 for 2024, subject to change in 2026)
• Airfare to Guatemala (varies, typically $500.00-$1000.00)
• Spending money (varies by student, we recommend travelling with at least $500.00)
