WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW ORLEANS!

We are excited to have you as a member of the University of New Orleans community!

As a new employee at UNO here are some first steps to complete:

1.)  New employees must turn in copies of their I-9 form and supporting documents prior to their first day.  Employees who will be working on campus should bring their documentation to HRM in Administration Building Room 213.

Employees who are working with state contracts should coordinate the employment eligibility process with their hiring manager.

2.) Please look for a Welcome email from 'UNO Access Services' to login to Workday to complete your new hire onboarding paperwork. This email from UNO will have your UNO worker username and link to reset your password. This will be the same username and password that you use for most applications at UNO including email, Canvas, Myapps.uno.edu, Workday, etc.

To access Workday go to myapps.uno.edu. Look for the Workday tile, login using the UNO email address and password you set from the Welcome email.

Your onboarding should be completed on or prior to your first day of work. Onboarding is completed in our HCM/Finance system Workday.  All onboarding tasks are in your inbox of Workday.

Click here for more detailed instructions/guidance on completing Workday Onboarding task.

If you do not receive this email or need assistance resetting your password, please contact helpdesk@uno.edu or 504-280-HELP. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact hr@uno.edu.

See document linked here for instructions.

3.)  Attend New Employee Orientation – scheduled every other Tuesday for 1:30pm via Zoom Web Conference. You will receive an email scheduling you for orientation to your personal email address including the Zoom link. (Only full time benefit eligible faculty and staff are required to attend orientation. Temporary and part time faculty and staff are oriented by their hiring departments.)

Contact Cliff Golz (cgolz@uno.edu) for questions about New Employee Orientation.

4.) If eligible, enroll in benefits via Workday. For questions or assistance enrolling in benefits, please contact hrmbenefits@uno.edu.

NOTE: Benefits enrollment is TIME SENESITIVE. Benefit eligible new employees have 30 calendar days to enroll into insurances as a guaranteed issue.

It is recommended that you save and print a copy of the benefit statement for your records, once your benefits enrollment is completed.

5.) If you are a student worker, WAE, Classified, or Unclassified Non-Exempt employee you must clock in and clock out via your Workday Account daily as well as review and enter time at the end of each pay period. Utilize myapps.uno.edu to access Workday and Workday Education which has helpful training guides to help you successfully navigate Workday.

NOTE: Student workers MUST use their UNO worker email address not their UNO student email to access Workday. If you do not know your UNO worker email address and/or password, please contact the helpdesk at helpdesk@uno.edu or 504-280-HELP.

6.) New employees should go to the University Computing Center to have an ID card printed. More information linked here.

Again, welcome aboard and we look forward to seeing you around campus!
