Qualifying for University Honors
Incoming first-year students qualify to participate in the honors program if they have a composite ACT score of 26, or an ACT English section score of 28, or an ACT Math section score of 28, or a SAT score of 1170 (from two sections in MATH and CRITICAL READING).
Continuing students (second semester and beyond) and transfer students qualify with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and above. Students who do not meet these criteria may also qualify with permission from the honors director.
Graduating with University Honors
To graduate with University Honors, a student must:
- maintain a 3.5 GPA in their major and 3.25 GPA overall;
- (a) complete the six-credit hour senior honors thesis course in their major, or (b) complete a senior honors project approved by the director of the University Honors Program;
- complete the one-credit hour University Honors Program capstone course, A&S 4000, during the semester they intend to graduate.
