Divisions

Patrol Division

The Department of Public Safety’s Patrol Division is staffed twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. All officers are POST certified and are commissioned by the State of Louisiana with arrest power.

Administration Division

Parking Section

The Parking Division is responsible for parking control on campus and the issuance of parking decals to students, faculty and staff.

Training Section

The Training Section is responsible for the training of the Department of Public Safety Officer in the following aspects:   

• Firearms Training
• Monadnock Training
• Verbal Judo
• Self Defense
• Pepper Spray

The following training is provided to the students, faculty, and staff of the University of New Orleans:

• Rape Aggression Defense (RAD)
• Personal Safety
• Apartment and Residential Security

Criminal/Internal Investigations

The Criminal/Internal Investigations Section is responsible for investigating crimes which occur on all UNO owned or controlled properties.  This section is also responsible for internal investigations of complaints against Department of Public Safety members.
