2.1 Ensure alignment of programs of study with community, state and regional needs.
2.1.1 Support academic units to meet with community stakeholders and appropriate organizations to solicit input regarding potential curriculum needs.
2.1.2 Assist academic units to prepare and submit program proposals for University of Louisiana System and Board of Regents approval.
2.2 Ensure that programs of study are high quality and reflect contemporary knowledge and practice.
2.2.1 Complete internal or external review process for all academic programs on a cyclical timeline.
2.2.2 Study curriculum integration within the external academic program review process and adapt procedures to incorporate curriculum integration within the internal academic program review process.
2.2.3 Provide professional development to deans, chairs, program directors and faculty regarding rationale and strategies for including program improvement actions within Academic Program institutional effectiveness plans.
2.3 Attract and retain an effective faculty to support a diverse student body in all academic areas.
2.3.1 Provide a variety of pedagogically related professional development opportunities including learning communities on topics such as Universal Design for Learning.
2.3.2 Use the Academic Affairs Institutional Effectiveness process to review data from Goal 1 and Goal 2 measures to identify faculty professional development needs to enhance improved student performance, with particular focus on underrepresented groups.
2.3.3 Provide opportunities for faculty to learn about and apply effective and inclusive pedagogies that enhance the academic success of a diverse student body.
2.3.4 Enhance faculty work experience and career advancement opportunities.
2.3.5 Enhance educational technology and instructional design support to ensure faculty provide high quality academic programs.
2.4 Increase faculty from underrepresented populations to reflect diversity of the student body.
2.4.1 Review policies and procedures to identify areas where bias impacts the recruitment and hiring process and implement training for key stakeholders including search committee chairs.
2.4.2 Ensure that Human Resources and Academic Affairs provide collaborative support for academic departments to collect and report demographic data at each step of the hiring process.
2.5 Improve the quality of instructional environments.
2.5.1 Adopt a tool in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar to determine the current condition of instructional environments.
