Program Dates for Academic Year 2019/20

Fall 2019 Semester: September 23, 2019 - February 15, 2020**
Spring 2020 Semester: February 24, 2020 - July 15, 2020**

**Please note: Some exams may take place after this date. Please confirm with program administration before purchasing your flights.

  • UNO tuition and fees for full time enrollment
  • High quality student housing for 6 or 12 months

  • Services of the AYA Resident Director
  • Pre-departure and orientation materials

 *Students who attend AYA for only one semester must obtain a visa and pay any related consular fees. The cost of a residency permit for students attending AYA for the full academic year will be covered on site by the AYA program.

  • Financial Assistance

    Financial Aid can be used for this program and other financial assistance options are available. UNO students can refer to this page for a listing of scholarships and awards. Non-UNO students must apply for financial aid at their home institution but should not hesitate to contact the AYA program administration for assistance with this process.

  • Payment Terms

    Please make all payments promptly. We cannot guarantee a place in the program unless all payments are made on schedule.

    A deposit of $300.00 is required with the application ($150.00 of which is non-refundable).

    A second payment of $700.00 is due upon acceptance into the program.

    Your program balance is due on the following dates: June 15 - AYA Fall Semester | November 15 - AYA Spring Semester

    If you are unable to pay your balance by the these dates due to loans or financial aid, please contact the Division of International Education to set up an individualized payment schedule.

    Those applying after June 15th for Fall or November 15th for Spring (provided that space is available) must remit the entire program cost with the application.

    NOTE: The participant remains ultimately responsible for the payment of all program costs regardless of any circumstances such as but not limited to the deferment of payments against the anticipated arrival of financial aid.

  • Refunds
    1. All monies will be refunded in full to students who are not accepted into AYA Program less the $150.00 non-refundable fee.
    2. $150.00 of the $300.00 deposit is fully refundable if a student withdraws from the program voluntarily by: June 15 - Fall AYA Semester | November 15 - Spring AYA Semester
    3. A cancellation fee of $450.00 will be assessed for cancellations after: June 15 - Fall AYA Semester | November 15 - Spring AYA Semester
    4. A cancellation fee of $950.00 will be assessed for cancellations after: July 15 - Fall AYA Semester | December 15 - Spring AYA Semester
    5. Only those monies that can be recovered from vendors by the university will be refunded, less the $950.00 cancellation fee after: August 1 - Fall AYA Semester | January 1 - Spring AYA Semester
    6. There are no refunds for withdrawals on or after: September 1 - Fall AYA Semester | February 1 - Spring AYA Semester
    7. The effective date of a cancellation shall be the date that written notice is received by the Program Administration at the University of New Orleans.
    8. Refund policies apply to all students regardless of date of application or circumstance.
  • Application Deadlines

    June 1 is the application deadline for the AYA Fall semester.

    November 1 is the application deadline for the AYA Spring semester.

    The program administration may accept applications after the deadlines if space is available in the AYA program.
