Student Organizations

We are very proud of our student organizations. These organizations provide an important meeting ground for our students to interact with one another. The Department of Biological Sciences is proud of its four undergraduate organizations.

Beta Beta Beta

This is an honor and professional society for students in the Biological Sciences whose function is to encourage intellectual interest in Biology and to promote a better appreciation of the value of biological research for the benefit of mankind. Tri-Beta is also a service organization which participates in many activities at UNO and the surrounding community. Activities in past years have included Career Seminars, participation in various local projects such as wetlands restoration efforts, fundraisers for club activities and to benefit charities, end-of-year crawfish boil, pizza parties, and many more are among the fun events that awaits you when you join TRI BETA.

Applications are available in the Departmental Office (CRC 200). If you have less than 30 credit hours or have less than a 3.0 GPA, you may join as an associate member (dues $55). If you have greater than 30 credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher, then you can join as a full member (dues $65).
