University Announces Eight Faculty Members Earn Promotions in 2015

The University of New Orleans' Office of Academic Affairs announced that eight faculty members have earned promotions and/or tenure in 2015.

"Faculty members are the lifeblood of any academic institution," said John Nicklow, provost and vice president for academic affairs. "These men and women are to be commended for their hard work and dedication in helping to fulfill UNO's teaching and research mission. We are very fortunate to have them."

The faculty members are:

Elyria Kemp, Department of Marketing and Management
Earned promotion (from assistant to associate professor) and tenure

Vesselin Jilkov, Department of Electrical Engineering
Earned promotion (from associate to full professor)

Randy Bates, Department of English
Earned promotion (from associate to full professor)

John Kiefer, Department of Political Science
Earned promotion (from associate to full professor)

Catherine Loomis, Department of English
Earned promotion (from associate to full professor)

Christopher Surprenant, Department of Philosophy
Earned promotion (from assistant to associate professor) and tenure

Charles Taylor, Department of Music
Earned promotion (from associate to full professor)

Vassil Roussev, Department of Computer Science
Earned promotion (from associate to full professor)
