UNO Artist in Residence Ariya Martin curated an exhibit of images taking landscape as their subjects titled “Southern Landscape: Bearing the Mark.”

The works are from The Do Good Fund, Inc., a collection of contemporary Southern photography based in Columbus, Ga, with a mission to exhibit the work throughout the region alongside community-based programming.

Artists included in the exhibition are Eliot Dudik, Joshua Dudley Greer, Jeff Rich, Mike Smith, Rylan Steele, and Walter Pickering.

In addition, Southerly Gold, a collective of female photographers residing in New Orleans will exhibit photographs from their explorations of the far reaches of Louisiana’s landscape in an exhibit titled “God’s Country: Images of Louisiana’s Frontiers.”

“For two years, Southerly Gold followed the trail of desire for Southern Utopia," said artists Aubrey Edwards, Ariya Martin and Elena Ricci in a statement.

"From agriculture to oil, from land to sea, they captured images along the routes of the past, uncovering, in the contemporary landscape, the residue those promises left on the land.”
