UNO St. Claude Gallery Hosts Two More Spring 2014 MFA Thesis Exhibitions

The UNO-St. Claude Gallery continues its series of Master of Fine Arts Thesis exhibitions for the Spring 2014 semester with two shows now on display.

UNO St. Claude Gallery Shows Students' Work

The exhibits will be held concurrently, from February 8 – March 3, 2014.

The gallery is located at 2429 St. Claude Ave. Regular gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5 p.m.

UNO fine arts graduate student Jason Childers exhibits multi-media sculpture in his one-person exhibit, "Peripheral Recognition," while fine arts graduate student Wendell Brunious shows paintings started with commercial graphics.

The shows were welcomed early this month with opening receptions and run weekends through March 3.

"Childers' work hinges on a deep exploration of the everyday and the tenuous relationships between artist, object, art, and life," said St. Claude Gallery Director Kathy Rodriguez.

"Wendell Brunious also takes inspiration from the everyday, as his paintings blend commercial imagery with abstract form. The works in his one-person show, "Influxx," are bright, active fields of color resulting from his combination of these seemingly disparate forms."
