UNO St. Claude Gallery Hosts Spring 2014 Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibitions

The UNO St. Claude Gallery proudly announces the first two Master of Fine Arts Thesis exhibitions to be held during the Spring 2014 semester.

The exhibits will be held concurrently, from Saturday, Jan. 11 through Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2014 at the gallery located at 2429 St. Claude Ave. Opening receptions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the gallery. Regular gallery hours are from 12 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Peter Hoffman will exhibit small to large-scale paintings and sculptures in his one-person exhibit, "Chubby Crimson Bottoms," said gallery director Kathy Rodriguez.

Hoffman quotes from art historical sources, specifically the Rococo, to explore formalist concerns of color, line, space, shape and surface.

Vanessa Centeno also works abstractly, making paintings, videos, and sculptures that consider emotional and physical aspects of studio practices. The works in her one-person show, "Keep It Up," are both humorous and discomforting objects resulting from her processes.
