UNO Marketing Week Starts Today with Presentations by Two Leading Marketers

The University of New Orleans Department of Marketing and Logistics kicks off UNO Marketing Week today with presentations by two top marketers from the Greater New Orleans Area.

UNO Marketing Week is designed to help interested students, particularly marketing majors, polish their skills as they prepare for careers in marketing. Marketing Week runs from Monday through Thursday, Oct. 22-25. The College of Business Administration’s Department of Marketing and Logistics has scheduled guest speakers in all marketing classes, as well as two lunchtime seminars. More than 20 leading marketers from around the region will speak to UNO students this week.

Today, Paul Hodge, a financial representative from Northwestern Mutual of Louisiana, will speak to students at 6 p.m. in Kirschman Hall, Room 227. Tracie Bertaut, a communications and marketing leader from the American Cancer Society will speak at 6 p.m. in Kirschman Hall, Room 225.

Two lunchtime seminars scheduled for later this week also promise to entice students hoping to advance or get a head start on their marketing careers.

The American Marketing Association will present “Networking 101: Learn How to Network From the Best.” from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 in Kirschman Hall, Room 214.

Keynote speaker Lauren Thom, who is chief executive officer and founder of Fleurty Girl, a New Orleans-inspired line of T-shirts, accessories and other locally made goods, will serve as UNO Marketing Week’s Keynote Speaker, addressing the UNO community at a lunchtime seminar from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 in Kirschman Hall, Room 129. The event will be sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Lecture Series and Northwestern Mutual of Louisiana. Lunch will be provided.
