A full slate of Division I opponents await the New Orleans baseball squad which will begin its fourth season under the direction of Bruce Peddie this spring.

Peddie's squad will play a total of 54 games in 2013, beginning on Feb. 15 with a series against Ohio Valley Conference foe Southeast Missouri State.

The three-game set against SEMO accounts for three of the 14 contests slated to be played on the Lakefront at recently opened Wesley Barrow Stadium.

The Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy facility is located just across Leon C. Simon from Privateer Park, which is undergoing a major renovation project and set to open in time for the 2014 baseball season.

Following the season-opening series, the Privateers will embark on  a pair of 13-game road swings sandwiched around a two-game home series against Alcorn State (Mar. 12-13).

The first stint on the road will include games at Arkansas (Feb. 19-20), South Alabama (Feb. 22-24), Tulane (Feb. 27), Central Arkansas (Mar. 1-3) and McNeese State (Mar. 8-10).

The second group of road contests features contests at Houston (Mar. 15-17), Tulane (Mar. 19), Grambling (Mar. 23-24), Nicholls State (Mar. 26) and West Virginia (Mar. 28-31). While at Houston, the Privateers will play a pair apiece against the host Cougars and Big 12 foe Baylor.

April features the final nine home games of the season for UNO, beginning with a contest against Jackson State (Apr. 2). Southern Miss (Apr. 9) and Nicholls State (Apr. 23) will visit for single games during the month with home series slated against Georgia State (Apr. 12-14) and Hofstra (Apr. 26-27).

Remaining road contests include USM (Apr. 10), Southeastern Louisiana (Apr. 16), Tulane (Apr. 17) and Oklahoma (Apr. 19-21) before the squad ends the season with seven straight away from home against Tulane (May 1), LSU (May 14) and a season-ending series at Campbell (May 16-18). The final stretch also includes a neutral site doubleheader in Summit, Miss. against Mississippi Valley State (Apr. 30).

UNO is competing as a NCAA Division I Independent this year. When the Privateers open the renovated Maestri Field in 2014, they will throw the first pitch as full members of the Southland Conference.

General admission season tickets are currently on sale at a cost of $50 for adults. A discounted rate of $30 is available for UNO faculty and staff, as well as youth between the ages of 3-12.
