UNO’s “Heartbeat of the Crescent City” Commercial Airs During Super Bowl Week
and Super Bowl XLVII

Superdome in New OrleansThe University of New Orleans new advertising and branding campaign depicting the University as “The Heartbeat of the Crescent City” rises to a new level during Super Bowl week.

As thousands of visitors arrive and all eyes are on the city, a new episode of the University’s “Heartbeat of the Crescent City” series launched Monday, Jan. 28, and will air a total of 18 times on WWL-TV during Super Bowl week, including once during the actual game broadcast, said university spokesman Adam Norris.  The University, which boasts a $1 billion in economic impact in Louisiana and has graduated more than 70,000 alumni, continues to advance its brand as a provider of superb academic programs and critical element in the city’s culture and economy. The commercial series, which tells a story and has aired in four separate episodes, highlights academic success and key programs of the University.

The spot will air during the following programs:

  • The Talk - broadcasting live from Jackson Square from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday.
  • New Orleans Live: “Eye on Super Bowl XLVII” - Ch. 4 program broadcasting live from Jackson Square from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday.
  • CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley - broadcasting live from New Orleans from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
  • CBS This Morning - broadcasting live from Jackson Square from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Late Night News – broadcasting from 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Elementary - broadcasting from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
  • The Late Show with Craig Ferguson – broadcasting from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Super Bowl XLVII - game telecast airing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
  • WWL-TV Live Super Bowl Post-Game Show - broadcast from 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

In addition, the University of New Orleans “Heartbeat of the Crescent City” logo appeared on a sliding billboard on the WWLTV. com homepage on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
