UNO and Privateer Athletics Announce Third Annual "Tennis at Twilight"

The University of New Orleans and Privateer Athletics cordially invite the New Orleans community, friends and alumni of UNO to attend the third annual 'Tennis at Twilight', an event benefiting the Privateer tennis program.

Held at Chateau Golf and Country Club (3600 Chateau Blvd., Kenner, La.) on Friday, Oct. 19, the event gets underway at 8 p.m.

At a cost of $75 per ticket or a VIP table for eight people at a cost of $1,000, the event will feature food, beer, wine, spirits, music, a silent auction and more. There will be a special gift at each seat located at the VIP tables.

“Our event has continued to grow with each passing year and we anticipate that this will be another exciting evening,” said UNO head tennis coach Burzis Kanga. “This event will raise money for our tennis program and the University Tennis Center, while putting a spotlight on the positive direction that our athletic program is heading.”

The music for the evening will be provided by B.R.W, which will play the great sounds of Mo-Town. Chateau Golf and Country Club is responsible for the evening’s gourmet food offerings.

The auction portion of the event is headlined by a Labor Day package to the 2013 US Open and two tickets to the Australian Open. Other auction items include 2-carat diamond studs, a weekend escape for 16 guests to Stewart Lodges and a weekend package that includes two nights at the Sheraton Hotel and tickets to the Hornets-Lakers game.

The silent auction will take place throughout the evening while the Honorable Mike Yenni, Mayor of Kenner will serve as the auctioneer in the open auction.

Dr. Glenn Johnson is serving as the title sponsor while other supporting sponsors include Chateau Country Club, Glazer Beverages, Rothchild Diamonds, Southern Eagle, Perlis, Stewart Lodges and Dr. Bruce Razza.
