UNO Student Organization Holds Food Drive to Benefit Victims of Hurricane Isaac

At the University of New Orleans, the student organization Allies of Israel is working with Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans to sponsor a food drive to benefit victims of Hurricane Isaac.

The food collection effort began Wednesday, Sept. 5, said Michael Springer, who is a UNO undergraduate student as well as treasurer of the organization and a news editor for Driftwood, the campus newspaper.

Those wishing to make contributions may place non-perishable food items in boxes located in the University Center near the Ask Lafitte Help Desk, said Springer. Collection boxes have also been placed in the lobby of the Administration Building near the Office of Admissions, in the lobby of the UNO Library and in the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement in Milneburg Hall Room 159.
