UNO St. Claude Gallery Presents Two Exhibits

The University of New Orleans St. Claude Gallery presents two exhibitions in the months of November and December.

“Adjust + Adapt,” an exhibition by Southerly Gold and “Riviere Froide Kid Camera Project,” an exhibition of photographs created by participants in the summer 2012 Haiti program conducted by the non-profit organization One Bird, will both be shown during the final Fall 2012 exhibition months of the gallery. The gallery is holding these exhibitions in conjunction with Photo NOLA, the annual photography conference held by New Orleans Photo Alliance. Artist in Residence Ariya Martin, who teaches photography in the UNO Department of Fine Arts, has co-organized the exhibit with fellow artists and Southerly Gold members Aubrey Edwards, Akasha Rabut and Elena Ricci.

The exhibits will run Nov. 10 – Dec. 8 at the gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Ave. Gallery hours run from noon to 5 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

The gallery will hold an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. During Photo NOLA, which runs Nov. 29 – Dec. 2, Southerly Gold and Kid Camera will host a gallery talk and closing reception at the gallery. The gallery talk, which will cover Southerly Gold’s origins and One Bird programming, will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30. A closing reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2.
