President Fos Fills Two Leadership Positions

University of New Orleans President Peter J. Fos announced that he has filled two key leadership positions by hiring Brett Kemker, vice president for student affairs and enrollment management, and Kevin McLin, vice president for marketing, communications and public relations.

Kemker most recently served as assistant provost at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. His previous positions at Southern Miss included associate dean of academic and student affairs and chair of the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. He was also a faculty member at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Fla., Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., and Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a master’s and doctoral degree from the University of Florida. He began his new role on July 2.

McLin was previously vice president of communications, public relations and marketing at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Ala. A native of New Orleans, he was a longtime faculty member at Dillard University. He also served as a publicist and spokesman for pop superstar Michael Jackson. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University and two master’s degrees from UNO. He also started his new position on July 2.
