Eight women affiliated with the University of New Orleans – either through alumnae status or community work -- have been named among CityBusiness “Fifty Women of the Year.”

The CityBusiness Awards, now in their 14th year, honor 50 women annually for their contributions to their fields, community achievements and civic involvement. This year’s pool of nominees included more than 500 local women who are leaders in their fields. The women will be honored at a noontime luncheon on Nov. 16 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 601 Loyola Ave. Each woman selected for the top 50 remains eligible to be named overall “Woman of the Year.”
