Application Instructions


All Students:

  1. Apply online! ($300 deposit required)
  2. Upload your digital photo and a scanned copy of your passport.
  3. Fill out and submit your Medical History Form.
  4. If you are put on the waiting list, you will receive an email notification to that effect. Your credit card will not be charged the application fee. If/when space becomes available, we will contact you prior to charging your credit card. 

Non UNO Students:

  1. Read our Guide for non-UNO students.
  2. Apply for admission to UNO.
  3. Complete Home Institution Approval Form.
  4. Complete steps 1-3 above.

Fill out and submit the Immunization Compliance Form (note: you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open this document), or go online to UNO's Student Health Services to complete the online waiver form (established UNO email address required in order to complete). Please inform us if you complete this process directly with Student Health Services.

* Please note that while you are welcome to, you do not need to apply to the Low Residency MFA Program to attend the Writing Workshops in Cork. For more information about writing degrees at the University of New Orleans, please visit

What's Next:

  1. If you don't have a passport, apply for one immediately! And be sure to upload a scanned copy once you receive it. Your application will not be delayed if you do not have a passport yet.

  3. UNO students: Apply for the Division of International Education Global Ambassador Award! It can be applied towards all summer programs and both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to enter. Awards range in amount from $250 to 1,500. The deadline to apply for Ambassador Awards is February 15, 2018. UNO students can also explore other awards and scholarships, like the Agnes Levine Memorial Award,or SG International Study Abroad Award.
