About
Malay Ghose Hajra received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University. Prior to joining the University of New Orleans in 2011, he had worked as project manager and senior Geotechnical engineer with multiple engineering firms in Louisiana and Texas. Dr. Ghose Hajra has extensive real-world professional engineering experience in Geotechnical Engineering, Foundation Design, Construction Materials Testing, and Coastal Protection/ Restoration projects located in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in multiple states including Louisiana. Dr. Ghose Hajra is actively involved with American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and has served as the President of the ASCE – Louisiana section. He is also the past chair of ASCE – Committee on Student Members (CSM). He is also an active member of Academic Committee for the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) and ASCE Geo-Institute.
