HEERF III funding:

The University of New Orleans Fund Application

The University of New Orleans has established the COVID-19 Student Fund to assist students with emergency financial need as it relates to the coronavirus (COVID-19). The intent of the funding from HEERF III is to assist eligible UNO students with tuition, fees, and other expenses as it relates to temporary financial hardships caused by the ongoing COVID outbreak.

Pell Grant recipients do not need to complete the application process. Pell Grant recipients who are at least half-time in enrollment will automatically be reviewed for the available funding based on their EFC, remaining need, enrollment hours, and funding availability. For all other students, applicants must meet the follow criteria to apply for the funding:

  • Be an UNO degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student
  • Complete the online HEERF III Application
  • Have a completed 2022-2023 FASFA* on file (you do not have to meet eligibility requirements for federal student aid, i.e. SAP, defaulted loan, overpayment, etc.). *International students will be reviewed based on their financial information on file with UNO and the HEERF III application.
  • Have remaining need based on your CoA (budget) and FAFSA results for the fall semester

UNO students may apply once during the fall semester using this application process. The applications will be reviewed based on the student’s need, enrollment hours, and funding availability. All awarding decisions are final. The grant will not be processed to the students’ UNO account until after fall registration ends.

HEERF III : University of New Orleans Student Emergency Fund Application

The University of New Orleans has established student emergency funding to assist UNO students with urgent financial need as it relates to COVID-19. The intent of the grant from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) is to assist UNO students experiencing a temporary financial hardship. The funds are limited and not intended to provide ongoing relief.

Pell eligible students who are enrolled half time are automatically reviewed for these emergency funds for the fall term. All other enrolled degree-seeking students may apply to the grant program once using this application process, and will be reviewed based on their need from their completed 2022-2023 FAFSA results and the application’s information. All awarding decisions are final. Grants are posted to the student’s award package, and eligible students will be notified once their review has been completed. The last day to apply for the fall semester is August 14, 2022. Please note that funding may be exhausted before this date.
