Position Summary

The Chair reports to the Dean of the College of Business Administration and is responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership in partnership with the college, alumni, and industry constituents.

Responsibilities

The Chair is responsible for developing and implementing immediate and long-range goals and objectives. The Chair will develop a shared vision and lead the school into a prominent global position in the 21st century with a goal of growing the enrollment of the undergraduate and graduate programs to meet the extremely high demand of the accounting industry.

Required Qualifications

1) An earned doctoral degree. 2) Demonstrated teaching excellence in accounting. 3) A strong record of research, teaching and service, meriting tenure at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor. 4) Demonstrated administrative abilities including academic planning, curriculum and program development, and budgeting. 5) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of developing community and industry relationships. 6) Leadership skills that include facilitating creative thinking, developing consensus around a vision and implementing a vision.

Desired Qualifications

1) At least one degree in the area of accounting. 2) Experience in accreditation, faculty recruitment and development. 3) Industry experience in accounting.
