Position Summary

The Department of Computer Science at the University of New Orleans invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in Spring 2021.  We are primarily looking for applicants whose expertise would extend and complement existing strengths within the department.  Candidates with expertise in environmental informatics, machine learning and AI, and big data are especially encouraged to apply.  Exceptional candidates in other related areas will also be considered.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to offer a broad range of specialized courses in their area of expertise, supervise graduate students, develop a nationally competitive research profile, and secure external research funding.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related field is required for appointment.  Successful applicants must possess a record of research excellence, and demonstrate strong teaching commitments to graduate and undergraduate courses.

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis starting August 1, 2020 until the position is filled.
