Job Summary
The Department of Computer Science at the University of New Orleans invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in Spring 2023. Candidates with expertise in environmental informatics, cyber security and big data are especially encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates whose interests and expertise augment existing strengths and exceptional candidates in any relevant area will be given due consideration.

Job Description
This research contract position will primarily focus on a new GulfSCEI project aimed at AI Automation to detect Flood Deficiencies in Flood Water Control Structures.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
60% |
Participate in the design, plan, coordination, and implementation of tasks in support of the project; |
5% |
Supervise the research of undergraduate and/or graduate students; |
10% |
Prepare reports Federal agency and drafting of research papers for publication; |
5% |
Participate in technical meeting with funding federal agency |
5% |
Present papers at conferences; |
5% |
Assist in developing research proposals to funding agencies; |
10% |
Performs other duties as required. |

1. Several Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) positions are available
effective this Fall semester. The positions pay a monthly stipend and cover

Undergraduate positions
1. Undergraduate Mentor positions are available every semester at $11/hour (undergraduates) or $12/hour (graduates). Contact Dr. Summa prior to the start of the semester. Qualified students should email csumma@uno.edu with [CSCI MENTOR APPLY] at the beginning of the subject line.
