The Creative Writing Workshop — Resident Program

cwwThe Creative Writing Workshop (CWW) is our resident MFA program and the New Orleans campus mainstay. Writing workshops and literature classes are combined in a curriculum designed to enhance both writing and critical reading skills in the genres of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, playwriting, and screenwriting. Our excellent faculty have guided students to fruitful careers in publishing and teaching.


The Creative Writing Workshop — Low Residency

ScotlandThe Creative Writing Workshop — Low Residency (CWL) program offers flexible opportunities for students who are not able to come to the New Orleans campus, who have already begun their careers and need a schedule that accommodates their work schedule, who travel widely or live abroad, or who simply prefer the flexibility of a low residency program. Our innovative curriculum includes online classes in the Fall and Spring semesters and month-long summer residencies in Europe.


Writing Workshops Abroad

WildeBunchThe Writing Workshops Abroad include the Writing Workshops in Cork, Ireland, and the Ezra Pound Center for Literature at Brunnenburg Castle in Dorf Tirol, Italy. After taking online classes in the fall and spring semesters, every summer the CWL (Low Residency MFA) students earn their residency credits at one of these locations. However, those interested in the workshops need not be enrolled in the MFA program. Classes are open to undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, and non-degree-seeking students as well.
