Application Instructions
Read below for our application requirements.

All Students:

  1. Apply online! ($300 deposit required)
  2. Upload your digital photo and a scanned copy of your passport (if you do not have a passport at the time of application, your application will still be processed. Just be sure to apply for one ASAP). 
  3. Fill out and submit your Medical History Form.
  4. If you are put on the waiting list, you will receive an email notification to that effect. Your credit card will not be charged the application fee. If/when space becomes available, we will contact you prior to charging your credit card. 

Non UNO Students:

  1. Read our Guide for non-UNO students.
  2. Apply for admission to UNO.
  3. Complete Home Institution Approval Form.
  4. Complete steps 1-3 above.

6. Read the Immunization Compliance Information on the UNO Student Health Services web site for more information and/or to complete the online waiver form (established UNO email address required in order to complete). You may either complete their Immunization Compliance form or the online waiver. Please send the form to our office first. If you handle this directly with the Health Services office, just be sure to notify us. 

What's Next:

  1. If you don't have a passport, apply for one immediately! And be sure to upload a scanned copy once you receive it. Your application will not be delayed if you do not have a passport yet.
  2. For our payment schedule, please visit our fees page.
  3. UNO students: Apply for the Division of International Education Global Ambassador Award! It can be applied towards all summer programs and both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to enter. Awards range in amount from $250 to 1,500. The deadline to apply for Ambassador Awards is typically in mid-February ever year. UNO students can also explore other awards and scholarships, like the Agnes Levine Memorial Award,or SGA Study Abroad Award. Information about all of these awards and more can be found here.
  4. The Pre-departure orientation for students in the New Orleans area will be in mid-April 2019 from 5:30-7:30 pm in the UNO International Center (out of town participants are asked to Skype in). Applicants will receive information on the confirmed date. 
  5. Please be in touch with our office to be sure you're getting our email updates!
  6. Sign up for our Facebook Group:UNO-Japan: Study at Doshisha. This is only open to current, former, and future participants. Then introduce yourself, and start asking questions! Lots of good advice to be gained.
  7. Once you have booked your flight, email us your itinerary at

Note: you will need to have certain information on hand in order to complete processes associated with our secure server. Please be sure to use the same email address, and to keep the confirmation ID given to you on the confirmation page of our online application.
