Join the Office of Student Affairs, the Newman Center, Student Activities Council, and Diversity Cabinet in celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr! The University of New Orleans MLK Week of Celebration provides opportunities for service, reflection, and hope.

Keynote Speaker - Vance Vaucresson

"Dr. King's Youth & Leadership: A Reflection with Vance Vaucresson" is presented by the Office of Student Affairs, the Newman Center, and the Diversity Cabinet.

Join us for a reflection with Vance Vaucresson, whose family was close with the King family, as he remembers the man who was Martin Luther King, Jr. (as told by his mother) and how his experiences in his youth shaped the leader he would become.

Since 1899, the Vaucresson family has held ground in the heart of New Orleans' seventh ward commercial corridor. Vance Vaucresson is the owner of Vaucresson Sausage Company, a Jazz Fest Staple.
