Music

MusicMusic - The Department of Music offers undergraduate programs (BA) in Composition, Jazz Studies, Music Studies, and Performance, and graduate programs (MM) in Composition, Conducting, Jazz Studies, and Performance. All programs within the department are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. The artist-faculty provides outstanding instruction to students from around the world while maintaining active national and international performing careers.



Film

Film and TheatreFilm -The Film program at UNO is one of the largest at the University and easily the largest in the southern region. The program offers a BA
in Film Arts and an MFA in Film Production, and has graduated Student Academy Award nominees and winners of every major film festival competition in the U.S. The Nims Center, which is currently the home base of the CBS television series NCIS: New Orleans, contains a 100,000-square-foot production facility.



Theatre

Film and TheatreTheatre - The Theatre program is the only accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre in the New Orleans area. The program offers a BA in Theatre Arts and an MFA in Theatre Performance (Acting & Directing) and Theatre Design. UNO graduates have worked in every major theatre company and professional venue in the New Orleans metropolitan area, including several companies that were started by alumni.



Fine Arts

Fine ArtsFine Arts - The Department of Fine Arts is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. The department offers a BA in Fine Arts, with options in both Studio Art and Art History and an MFA in Studio Arts. Housed in a series of buildings that include portions of Milneburg Hall, the Commons, and a studio complex, the department utilizes both on-campus and off-campus art galleries, as well as the full cultural community of New Orleans. The talented faculty of working professional artists collaborate with institutions throughout the area and with internationally known artists to offer practice and instruction. All faculty members are contributing writers to local and national arts periodicals and online journals



Arts Administration

Arts AdministrationArts Administration - The Arts Administration Program offers the only Master's Degree in Arts Administration in Louisiana and the Gulf South. Since 1983 the program has provided professional training for the vital "backstage" administrative, financial and marketing leaders of established cultural institutions and entrepreneurial startups, in both the visual and performing arts. The program's alumni are crucial to the cultural infrastructure of New Orleans and the region, with increasing national and international impact.
