UNO Gets $56,000 Public History Grant from Board of Regents

The University of New Orleans Department of History has received a $56,000 grant from the Louisiana Board of Regents to enhance its ability to teach public history through digital techniques.

 Christine IkedaUniversity of New Orleans faculty member Christine Ikeda has been awarded a 3-year $510,000 grant from the Office of Naval Research. 

Ikeda, an assistant professor of naval architecture and marine engineering, is one of 36 researchers around the country to be named a 2015 Young Investigator, which is one of the oldest and most selective scientific research advancement programs in the country.

Golden Richard_CyberUniversity of New Orleans professor Golden Richard has received a $105,000 grant from the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency

University of New Orleans professor Golden Richard has received a $105,000 grant from the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency to expand his intensive cybersecurity training course for high school teachers. The funding will allow Richard to train 20 teacher participants, five more than in the program's first year.
