Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation

Lighting the path to our future

Primary objective of the Louis-Stokes Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LS-LAMP) program is to provide minority STEM students with educational enrichment e.g., peer tutoring, summer research opportunities, conference participation, and modest financial support via book awards, GRE preparation books, summer tuition assistance. Students participate in K-12 and peer tutoring activities . LAMP is funded by NSF and Board of Regents. At UNO program is led by Dr Puri and the program is ongoing since 1995. In 2011-12, 40 students were supported from Sciences (excluding psychology) and Engineering departments. Participants come from nearly all STEM disciplines.
