Goal Five: Outcome 1

A comprehensive planning and review process that incorporates institutional effectiveness plans, academic program reviews, and program accreditation reviews.

Ensure University’s capital and major repair planning and design efforts are integrated with UNO’s Master Plan.

Findings

Capital outlay and major equipment repair requests have been submitted to ULS Board of Regents annually.  The five year plan focuses on optimizing existing building space and upgrading/repairing existing facilities.  No new buildings are requested per UNO’s Master Plan.  In 2016-2017, capital funding was awarded for Library and Science building renovations.  In 2017-2018, capital requests include major roof repairs, major equipment replacement, building renovations.
 
Anticipated Next Steps

The capital outlay and major repair requests is submitted to the ULS Board of Regents annually for project approvals.

Improve facilities maintenance and investment in physical infrastructure.

Findings

The Maximo system helps to manage the work orders submitted by faculty, staff, and students.  Through the Maximo system, work orders can be tracked along with associated costs for labor and materials.  Reports can be generated that shows progress and associated improvements.
 
Anticipated Next Steps

Monthly Maximo reports will be developed showing number of work orders received, timely completed, and associated costs.  Also, a monthly Maximo report will be developed to provide monthly preventative maintenance work order status.

A Sustainability Council is being established to set specific goals and implementation process to create an integrated and effective approach to address ecological, social, community, and economic challenges to build a sustainable, vital and more resilient future for UNO.
